THE SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF IS WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE* *Suspension of disbelief or "willing suspension of disbelief" is a formula devised by the poet and aesthetic philosopher Samuel Taylor Coleridge to justify the use of fantastic or non-realistic elements in literature. Coleridge suggested that if a writer could infuse a "human interest and a semblance of truth" into a fantastic tale, the reader would suspend judgment concerning the implausibility of the narrative. This theory can be applied to our experiences in a Cinema / Home Theatre and in that system's ability to recreate the epic battle or scene from your DVD or Blu-Ray collection and in doing so completely dissolve you in the film's storyline. Almost like a good novel on steriods. A bit more about Screen Excellence's Acoustically Transparent (A/T) projection screens;
